Wool Spinning – Session 1

Event Details
Join Tine & Floyd for a demonstration of hand-spinning wool into yarn, a generative craft where what you produce can be made into something new.
This is a demo on the Turkish Spindle, loved for how lightweight, portable and easy to use it is. Learn
- A little about the drafting process – how to tease the wool out
- The traditional way to twist – clockwise for singles, anticlockwise for plying
- Twisting two singles together
- How to create different weights of yarn – worsted, DK, lace, etc.
Wool spinning can be a relaxing and meditative, as well as rewarding pastime. Join Tine & Floyd to experience a potential new hobby.
Families and children 6+ are welcome.
