DESCRIPTION:    \nJoin us for an extra special and exciting excursion as we visit The Plant Library\, part of the Serge Hill Project\, courtesy of psychotherapist and author of The Well Gardened Mind\, Sue Stuart-Smith. \nImportant Information: \n\nWe shall be leaving from Thomas’s Academy School in SW6 and travelling by (hired) bus\, details shall be emailed.\nPlease bring a packed lunch and a reusable water bottle. \nWe recommend bringing a pair of gardening gloves if you have them for potential activities. \nWe ask that you dress weather-ready – don’t forget sun protection and extra layers as needed.\nPlease ideally dress your children with closed shoes\, leggings and waterproof clothing/change of clothing.\n\n  \nAbout \nThe Plant Library is an extensive educational garden for anyone interested in plants and planting design: whether they be visiting students of horticulture\, gardeners\, garden designers or school children. \nThere are over 1500 plant varieties arranged in a grid\, where visitors can walk through and see different types of plants grouped together based on their needs (sunlight\, moisture etc.). Each group has a QR code to help visitors identify over 1100 herbaceous plants and 400 varieties of bulbs. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special Wild Spaces family workshop in the Growing Space at St Helen’s\, in partnership with Butterfly Conservation. It’s sure to educate and excite! \n  \nCome along and meet Steve from the Big City Butterflies project to learn how to identify common butterflies and how to create a ‘Wild Space’ to support butterflies and moths. A Wild Space is one where butterflies and moths can complete their lifecycle. The workshop consists of a 30 minute presentation followed by a guided walk looking at butterfly habitat and identifying butterflies at nearby Little Wormwood Scrubs. \n  \nLondon is home to a surprising diversity of butterflies and moths. Over twenty-five of the UK’s 59 butterfly species can be spotted in the capital.
