St. Helen’s Church North Kensington
Growing Space at St. Helen’s is an edible garden project in partnership with St. Helen’s Church, North Kensington, W10 6LP and Bassett House School, W10 6JP.
The fully sustainable & organic garden is designed to provide edible and ecological growing space for Bassett House school children during term time and for the local community of all ages during weekends and school holidays.
Our environmental coordinator will train and assist school staff members as needed in order to ensure that the garden is fully incorporated into the KS1 and KS2 curriculum. She will also organise and oversee courses and workshops for the local residents, liaising with various nurseries, community groups and schools to ensure that there are a wide variety of activities and learning opportunities for those who are interested.
Our goal is to inspire a greater understanding of where our food comes from, how it is grown, the importance of soil health and insect biodiversity and our role in being better stewards of our natural environment.
